Mulga Bill
Those that came along to parade on Monday would have enjoyed the Senior Class reciting Mulga Bill’s Bicycle by Banjo Patterson. All of our classrooms are looking at poetry through one means or another over the next few weeks and it’s been great to walk into different classrooms in our school and hear children reciting and discussing poetry. As we’ve discussed with the children, poems are a form of text that we read for enjoyment or reflection. They’re one of the language genres that can link so many of the finer parts of English within and it’s great to see each of our classroom’s talking about poetic devices and reading and writing poetry for enjoyment.

A special thanks to Mrs Nerissa Pyke for her very informative visit to the school last week. Nerissa spoke to the children about the role of the RSPCA and what children can do to look after their pets at
home. Congratulations also to our students who raised just under $100 dollars as a donation to the RSPCA.

Clean School Award
Congratulations to Mrs Kathy Goodhind who through here tireless efforts to keep out school sparkling has received the “Clean School Award” for term 3 for the Darling Downs South West Region. I’m sure everyone would agree that MrsGoodhind does an amazing job in our school keeping our classrooms, buildings and learning areas clean and tidy.
